June 5th – Aberthau Mansion Wedding Vancouver

Posted on 28. Jun, 2010 by (Steve) Music Maestro DJ Service in DJ Services

Another incredible West Coast day, perfect for a wedding ceremony and reception at the Aberthau Mansion in Vancouver. Many thanks to Anthony & Alison for allowing me to provide the music for their outdoor ceremony and later inside for the reception. It was the perfect West Coast wedding celebration!

The ceremony was held on the lower lawn in the rear of the mansion. With a mix of old and new music for the ceremony, they were soon wed. I also supplied a wireless microphone for the ceremony so that everyone present could hear what was being said; it worked out marvelously.  While the bride and groom were busy with the photos there was an extended mix & mingle session with plenty of appetizers being brought around by: http://www.tastetosavour.com/index.html Mmmm, yummy! Their crab-cakes were to-die-for! :)

Now it was time for the bridal party to enter the reception. They were introduced enthusiastically by the MC, sports announcer style! What song was playing, you ask? Foreplay / Long Time by Boston of course! :) Next we had a couple speeched followed by a cocktail-style buffet meal. I almost forgot to mention that I heard one of the best speeches ever by Alison’s dad. What a funny guy, quite the charming and charismatic fellow! After that, it was time for the cake-cutting and video presentation.  Finally it was time to dance, and dance they did! The floor was packed all night.

It was a perfect day all around, West Coast style. ;)

June 4th, 2010 – Meadow Gardens Golf Club Ceremony & Reception

Posted on 28. Jun, 2010 by (Steve) Music Maestro DJ Service in DJ Services

A big thank-you to Allison & Scott for allowing me to be a part of their special day, acting as both DJ and Master of Ceremonies. Their day started with a beautiful outdoor ceremony officiated by the wonderful Christina Stanley, BC Wedding Commissioner. We were a little worried about the weather but it held and the ceremony went ahead as planned outside on the patio. I got to play a wonderful selection of music for the ceremony with the recessional being ‘All Of My Love’ by none other than Led Zeppelin.  After a couple hours of cocktail music and guests ‘catching up’ with each other, the wedding party made their Grand Entrance into the Ivory Room. Forever by Chris Brown was played for the wedding party’s entrance with Allison & Scott entering to The Way I Are by Timbaland. How cool it that?

The service and food at Meadow Gardens were both fantastic as usual:  http://www.meadowgardens.com/. Their ‘Events Coordinator’ Claire Viktora made sure everything ran smoothly, as did their MC. ;) My compliments to the chef as that was some of the best Teriyaki Salmon I have ever had. Yum!

After some heart-felt speeches and the cake-cutting, it was time to dance! After a romantic first dance, Don’t Let Go by Bryan Adams & Sarah McLachlin and a dance with the parents, it was time to crack things wide open with a song specially chosen by Scott & Allison, I Got A Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas!  Everyone packed the floor from that moment on; it was as awesome night!

All the best Scott & Allison! :)

May 29th, 2010 – Scott & Stephanie at Swan-e-set!

Posted on 24. Jun, 2010 by (Steve) Music Maestro DJ Service in DJ Services

Wow, what a fun night it was! A big ‘THANK-YOU!’ to Scott & Stephanie for entrusting me with the soundtrack to their wedding reception. The high energy entrance to the reception was announced by ‘yours truly’ while playing ‘Say Hey (I Love You) by Michael Franti & Spearhead; perfect!

From there, things just kept getting better. The food at Swan-e-set was delicious and the service, fantastic.  Scott & Stephanie’s romantic first dance was Forever by Ben harper, beautiful… After the parent dances, the party soon took-off! Unfortunately, I forgot my camera that night. I know! I know! No worries though as their photographer, Scott  D. Johnson: www.sdjphotography.com captured some incredible photos and posted them on his blog. His first dance shot was so perfect that I asked him for a copy to grace the walls of my office, he was kind enough to oblige and even had it printed for me. :-) Thanks Scott! I could go on about the rest of the evening but ‘what happens at Swan-e-set, stays at Swan-e-set.’ ;-)

I truly am blessed to work for such wonderful people as Scott & Stephanie. Life is good.

Shaughnessy Golf Club Wedding – May 22, 2010

A gracious thank-you to Filitsa & Foti for trusting me to handle the music at their full blown Greek wedding. There was so much dancing, especially allot of traditional Greek dancing which was incredible to watch. A have honestly never seen a young group of people so in-tune with their heritage; it was a pleasure to behold. Not only did they know the traditional dances but most were fluent in Greek as well. We had a great emcee that night that not only spoke the language but also read it. He also surprised the B&G with live music. He sang and played the Bouzouki (Greek style mandolin / guitar) to backing tracks played through my sound system. It added so much to the night that I couldn’t have imagined the evening without it.  The ‘Kefi‘ was in abundance that night! Opa!
